Background
Because of its unique origins, Los Alamitos Cardiovascular Group is very different from other cardiovascular groups. Over thirty years ago Dr. Len Lieberman, Dr. David Ginns, and Dr. Arnold Ostrow started Los Alamitos Internal Medical Group. These men were superb internists with special training in cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine. The three doctors were primary care physicians and specialists. Due to their expertise, the practice changed over the years and became the primary cardiology group in the Los Alamitos and Seal Beach Area.

Dr. Alan Gold and Dr. Stuart Fischer, both highly trained and board certified cardiologists, were recruited in 1977 and 1980, respectively. Time brought more changes, and with the addition of Dr. Tim O'Neill and Dr. Steve Forman, the practice flourished, and became a full service cardiovascular group. The demands of a growing patient base and staff, combined with advances in medical technology were key factors in our decision to move Los Alamitos Cardiovascular into a new facility.

Vision
The partners spent many hours planning and building the ideal cardiovascular practice. They had two very specific goals in mind: First, they wanted a practice that would preserve and respect the caring traditions, and individual patient focus started by the initial partners; second, the physicians at Los Alamitos Cardiovascular wanted to provide their patients with the most sophisticated and technologically advanced procedures and equipment available in cardiovascular medicine.

The physicians realized their vision when the new Los Alamitos Cardiovascular state-of-the-art facility opened in September 2003. It includes a large, comfortable waiting room with examining rooms designed for patient comfort and privacy. Now, patients can have all their diagnostic tests, EKG, Chest X-rays, Echocardiograms, Holter Monitors, Treadmill Stress Tests, Nuclear stress tests, and full laboratory testing done in one place. In addition to the convenience of having tests and lab work done in our offices, this model promotes prompt diagnoses with the important benefit that optimal therapy can be initiated quickly and efficiently.

The medical competencies represented by our physician staff encompass the various subspecialities within cardiovascular and endovascular medicine. So, in addition to the out-patient procedures done in our offices, our highly experienced doctors perform the newest and most sophisticated invasive procedures at many of the region's hospitals. These procedures include: coronary interventions; pacemaker insertion and follow up; EECP; and peripheral vascular testing and interventions.

Growth
Upon realizing its vision, the practice continues to experience growth, and we have been extremely fortunate to have added Dr. Bret Witter and Dr. Ramndeep Brar to our group. Each member of our team is carefully chosen based not only on their individual skill set, but as importantly, on their ability to consistently deliver the highest quality level of medical care, while remaining sensitive and responsive to each patient's unique needs.

Innovations and on-going research in the field of heart healthcare are offering patients and their doctors new and better ways to address patient treatment, provide for better outcomes, and improve the patient's quality of life. The physicians and staff at Los Alamitos Cardiovascular are focused on remaining in the forefront of those medical advances, and always with a prudent eye to what makes sense, and what is best for each patient.
